Faith & Politics Wrapped up nicely

Graham,

I really appreciated how you wrapped up Living Faith: Faith & Politics on Nov 9.  Using Isaiah 45 was very helpful, with that in my mind's background and reading the article you passed out really made me think.

(for the article, go to msnbc.com and search: Christian right regroups after Obama victory: Powerful conservative force declared a loser after recent election, Nov 9)

I could not help but think of how Israel was not happy that God chose Cyrus to lead her out of Babylonian captivity (Isaiah 45).

Also, I could not help but see the irony in the reality that I probably would not have voted for Jesus in his day or agreed with God's choice of Cyrus at that time.  Cyrus was a foreign king and Jesus wasn't using his power to wipe out his enemies.

Whether we, left or right or hybrid, agree with God choosing Obama or not, we can know that God will use him to advance His purposes and that we participate with God.

Thanks for your leadership in the series and for this article,

Layne
